This volume asks the question: what role does place play in argumentation? representation? epistemology?  The editors wanted to try to steer the conversation from the more theoretical concept of space (perhaps equivalent to Perelman's notion of "convincing argumentation") to the more practical and tangible concept of place (perhaps equivalent to Perelman's notion of "persuasive argumentation").  It turns out that space is almost unavoidable when talking about place, but to the degree that we found folks reflecting upon their experiences of specific locations, we succeeded.

This volume is unique for us.  We have included a section (mis-?)named "Primary Sources".  Here the submissions, while reflective, were borne out of an immediate interaction with a place: the Register Cliff, WY; Toad Hall; MoMa, NYC.  All were heavily multi-media, allowing the reader the opportunity to observe the impact of place upon the submitters.

More will be posted as they are received.

We hope you enjoy!
